Biography
portugues
Ronnie was born in England, in 1947, the youngest child in a musical and artistic family. He and his two brothers, Ted and Art, were influenced by their father, Arthur, who was playing in a 24-piece band whilst the two older boys played with 'The Temperance Seven' and 'Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated'. Ronnie made his debut, age nine, playing washboard with his brothers in their skiffle band and never looked back.
Ronnie received formal art training at Ealing College of Art before music became the major influence in his life. Ronnie eventually became one of 'The Faces' and a 'Rolling Stone'- so securing his place in Rock's Who's Who. As well as guitar Ronnie plays bass, drums, saxophone and pedal steel.
During his long career, Ronnie has had the opportunity to perform with many of his heroes including Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Fats Domino, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan and the Corrs. He has released six albums of his own and the most recent critically acclaimed, 'Not For Beginners'.
Throughout the years the artist and musician have been inseparable. All this time he never stopped sketching- in dressing rooms, backstage, at home with family and friends. It was as natural to find him with a pencil as a guitar drawing portraits of contemporaries and finding inspiration from his musical influences.
Ronnie is a happy family man with four children and lives in London and Ireland. In addition to a career in Rock 'n' Roll he has also made his mark in the art world. Over the past ten years he has held numerous One Man exhibitions in Europe, America and Japan including a retrospective at the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in San Paulo, exhibiting works in various mediums including oil paintings, woodcuts, lithographs, etchings and drypoints. He plans to continue both careers with his usual energy.
